Rebel alumni player Jake Bichko is a standout forward for
the Junior Royals team this year. This
season in 21 games Jake has 15 goals and 14 assists for 29 points. The Jr. Royals are currently leading the MET
league with a 18-2 record and the highest win percentage in the league.
According to his dad, the only thing Jake wanted was to play
on the Rebels team. Jake’s first year playing for the Rebels they did not have a Mite team so Jake played on the Rebels Squirt team for three
years.
Jake played his entire youth hockey career with the Rebels
from Squirts through Midget 16. During his time with the Rebels Jakes
teams won three Long Island Championships and appeared in two State Championships
with one second place finish along with many Silver Stick and local tournament
Championships.
This year playing in the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League
Jake has gotten the attention he desired from college and NAHL scouts. Jake is currently ranked as the second
highest goal scorer for the Royals and is ranked 12th in the MET league for
points.
Junior Royals Head Coach Ken Hoey said that Jake is one of the
boys this year that he believes has the capabilities to move up onto a NAHL
team next year.
The Rebels Organization is proud of Jake and will follow his
hockey career in the coming future.
