KEN UHER JOINS REBELS AS BANTAM '00 COACH

The Rebels are proud to announce the addition of Ken Uher to our coaching staff. 

Ken Started out his coaching career with the Long Island Rebels as an assistant coach to the Squirt team in 2003. 

He went on to join the Ice Cats where he spent seven years as head coach in the Newbridge based organization.  In his final two years with the Ice Cats, Ken lead their Midget 16U squad to the first ever LIAHL playoff appearance for any Ice Cats Midget team, finishing in the Runner up spot. 

From the Ice Cats, Ken took the helm as the Head coach of the Long Island Wolfpack Juniors, leading the 'pack since 2009.  

The Rebels are taking full advantage of Ken's coaching experience.  In addition to his Bantam Minor role, he will bring his talents to the younger level as he assists Kevin Young with our Squirt Minor team.

BANTAM MAJORS ADD ROLAND BUZARD TO BENCH

The Rebels are pleased to announce the addition of Roland Buzard to the Bantam Major coaching squad.  Roland has coached youth hockey since starting his career in 2004 with the Long Island Royals.  He coached in the Royals organization for four season before joining the Ice Cats in 2008.  With the Ice cats, he coached Bantams, Squirts, and Pee Wee posting a 26-1-1 record in his final year with the Ice Cats PW team.  Roland currently works with the Laura Staff Power Sating School where he has been since 2008.  

Roland Buzard and Vinny Mannetta bring a tremendous amount of coaching talent to this year's Bantam Majors and the Rebels are looking to another successful season.

Barbara was the First Female Skating Coach int he NHL. She was the Official Skating Coach to two NHL teams: The NY Islanders and the NJ Devils. She has coached four NHL Farm Teams and trained hundreds of pros privately. She also has players in the NHL, Div I colleges, and this year 7 players in the USHL Draft. Barbara was inducted into the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame in 2011

JERSEY SIZING & PLAYER INFORMATION

1. As discussed at all Parent meetings, jersey sizing will take place at the conclusion of ALL TRYOUTS.  They will be conducted at Dix Hills Ice rink for the entire organization all at once.  We have not scheduled any dates for sizings yet but for planning purposes we expect that it will take place around the first or second week of May.  Team managers will inform you once the dates are scheduled.   

2.  All players who made Rebel teams for 2013-2014 season must enter their information into the database to receive emails and updates reference their team.

MIDGET 16 AA CLINCH STATE SPOT!!!

It came down to the last league game of the season...Win and they are in....well they did and they are!!  By beating PAL 6-4 at the Rinx in Hauppauge this afternoon, the 2012-2013 Rebels Midget 16U team captured the last spot for the 2013 State Championship Tournament and will head up to Buffalo in March.  This marks the 8th straight year that a Rebels Midget 16U will compete for the state crown.

Congratulations to Coach Kevin Corey and the team!!!

Good Luck in the STATES!!!!
