This past weekend the 14U Rebels team started out their 4 game weekend with a 3-1 win over the Exton Kings. The Rebels ended the game with a power play goal by Ryan Williams. John Benedetto helped out with this victory with 2 assists. Bryan Barberich stopped 24 of 25 shots.
The Rebels continued their great play with a 4-0 win over the NYC Cyclones. Not only did the Rebels show their strength on the offensive side of the ice but the defense shined as well only allowing for 8 shots. Goals were scored by Drew O’Connor (2), Connor Hall and Aidan Dowsett.
On Sunday, the team had their only loss of the weekend dropping 6-4 to the Philadelphia Blazers. The Rebels fought hard and were up 4-2 going into the 3rd. The Blazers came back with 3 goals and an empty net in the fourth despite the Rebels great effort.
The Rebels bounced back for the afternoon game. After a 0-0 1st period the boys rallied in the 2nd with Ryan Williams and Connor Hall both putting the puck in the net. Drew O’Connor assisted by Luke Tsotsos and Thomas Sparling helped to show the Rebels offensive power in the 3rd period. With the help of a great defensive front, Ryan Nocerino had his second shut out of the weekend for a final of 3-0.
The team looks forward to facing 4th place Red Bank Generals on Sunday, October 9 to continue their EJEPL climb to the top.
