JUNIORS -- REBELS TAKE THREE
OF FOUR POINTS FROM THUNDER
12/18/06
The
Rebel Junior team traveled to Delaware last weekend to take on the
Thunder team who are currently fighting to stay atop of the America
East Junior Hockey League standings. The Thunder team who are much
older and bigger than the Rebels were looking to grab two quick wins
from the weekend.
On
Saturday night in front of a large vocal crowd the Rebels showed the
Thunder what Long Island lightening is. In the first ten minutes the
Rebels put four goals on the board with scores from Rossi, Healy, and
two from Hendrickson. The Thunder fought back scoring six goals on
52 shots but the Rebels held on outscoring the Thunder 7-6 with a
total of three goals scored by Zach Hendrickson. Rebel goalie Anthony
Sellitti stopped 46 of 52 shots for the win. The Rebels have won
all three games played against the Thunder including one stopped game
in the second period (ice problem) with the Rebels winning at the
time 9-3.
Sunday
the Thunder came out with fast jumping out to a 5-2 lead by the end of
the second period. Rebel lightening struck the Thunder again that
started with a great backhand shot by Hendrickson that popped the
water bottle. Goals from Collins, Seward and Rifice sealed the deal
tying the score at 5-5. Rebel goalie Sean Zerillo in net for the
game stopped 35 of 40 shots for the tie.

The Junior Rebels traveled to Lachute
Canada last weekend to participate in the second America East Hockey
League showcase. A large crowd of local hockey fans were
present for the friday night first game vs. the Wooster Oilers.
The Rebels came out running and jumped to a 6-2 lead by the end of
the second period. The strong Oiler team came back in the
third period but were unable to stay out of the penalty box.
The Rebels beat the first place Oilers 8-7.
The second game vs. the third place
Delaware Thunder was on Saturday morning in Brownburg. The
Thunder were up 3-1 with five minutes left in the game when Justin
Sparacio banged one in from infront to make it 3-2.
A few minutes later James Murphy was also able to grab a rebound and
tie the score. With two minutes left in the game Murphy
let a slap shot go from the top of the circle that caught the net
top corner putting the Rebels up by one. The game ended Rebels
4 - Delaware 3.
The third game was Saturday evening
vs. second place Cleveland. The strong Cleveland team never
gave up the lead and won the game.6-2.
The fourth game was back at Lachute
and the locals were in attendance again to watch their hometown
Harrington Icebergs take on the Rebels. The Iceberg
goalie put on a demonstration stopping 39 of 40 Rebel shots to lead
his team to a 5-1 win.
The Rebels are now 12 - 9 - 0 in
the America East Junior Hockey League.
JUNIORS -- DELAWARE GAME STOPPED DUE TO ICE
PROBLEMS

The Delaware Thunder (12-5-3)came to
Dix Hills on Saturday night for a two game series.
The Rebel Junior team called up three players from the Midget team
(Cartwright, Murphy, & O'Donohue) to help out with a short bench.
The trio wasted no time in getting into the game. Five seconds
into their first shift they buried one into the Delaware net.
Greg Cartwright won the face off in the Delaware zone passed across
to James Murphy who one timed for the score. The trio came
back in the second period when all three touched up with Murphy
scoring with assists to Cartwright and O'Donoghue. The Rebel
guns were on the attack with 7 unanswered goals. Zach
Hendrickson had 2 goals and 2 assists. Sean Collins had
3 goals and two assists. The game had to be stopped with
5:08 left in the second period due to a hole in the ice. At
the time the game was stopped the Rebels were winning 9-3.
The game will be completed at a later date.
Sundays game started off with Delaware
striking first. Twenty seconds later Hendrickson scored on a
breakaway to tie the score. Four minutes later Sean Collins
got on the board for the first of three goals to put the Rebels up
for good. Dan Healy added to the cause with two goals and the
91's Murphy & Cartwright finished the Thunder off in the third for a
final score of 7-4. Rebel goalie Anthony Sellitti stopped 27
of 31 shots for the win.
Not counting the Saturday game the
Rebels are now 8-7 in the America East Junior Hockey League.

Columbus Day weekend had the junior
team in Exeter New Hampshire for the "Future Stars College
Showcase". The team played flat the first day dropping two
games to the Exeter Seawolves 7-4 and the Wooster Oilers
6-4. On Sunday the first game was against Webster Academy.
Two quick short handed goals got the Rebels going with the team
scoring 6 unanswered goals in the first half. Zach Hendrickson
led the attack with a hat trick. The final score was 7-2.
The second game was against the Eastern Penn Bucks Junior team.
The fast paced game was tied at the half 2-2. The Rebels took
advantage of several power play advantages winning the game 7-2.
The Rebels completed the weekend with a 2-2-0 record with an America
East Hockey League record of 6-4-0 / 49 Goals For
and 36 Goals Against.
Several of the Rebel Junior players
were selected by Hockey Night in Boston News to have a story and
photos featured in an upcoming publication.
JUNIORS -- STEVES' MAGICAL
MYSTERY TOUR

The Rebels Junior team traveled to
Cleveland last weekend to play the CTDP team.
Saturdays night game showed the effect of the 8 hour bus trip with
the Rebels dropping the first game in a 6-3 loss.
The team was ready for the Sunday
afternoon re-match. Cleveland jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a power
play goal six minutes into the first period. The Rebels
came back with 3:18 left in the first when Sean Collins scored on a
pass from Mark Capobianco.
Less than 45 seconds later Rebels Nick Rossi sniped the Cleveland
net putting the Rebels up 2-1. Seven minutes into the second
period Cleveland scored on a two man advantage tying the score 2-2.
During the third period intermission the Rebels locker room was
ready to win one for the new team fan "Steve-O".
From the drop of the puck the Rebels came out fast drawing a power
play opportunity. Devin O'Connor quickly snuck one in on the short
side to put the Rebels up 3-2. Cleveland did not let down and
went on the attack. Rush after rush was turned away by a tight
defense and excellent goaltending. The last four minutes of the game CTDP had
a power play and an extra skater for the then empty net but could not get
one past Rebels Sean Zerillo the Rebel goaltender
who came up big several times shutting down the Cleveland attack to give
his team the 3-2 win. Zerillo faced 31 shots from the
powerful Cleveland offense stopping 29 of them.
The Rebels are now 4-2 in America East
Junior Hockey League.
JUNIORS -- REBELS SPLIT WITH
RAPTORS

The Rebels hosted the South Jersey
Raptors for a two game series last weekend. Fans present for
the Friday night game saw the Rebels offensive game at its best.
Zack Hendrickson had a hat trick with one goal each period.
Mike Dzwill had two and Kelly and Mangano jumped in to help the
Rebels defeat the Raptors 7-4. The Sunday game was a rubber
game for New Jersey. Rebel goals from Lukenovich, Prainito and
Kelly were not enough for the Raptors who beat the Rebels 4-3.
The Rebels are now 3-1 in America East League play. Next
weekend the Rebels will be traveling to play the powerful Cleveland
CTDP Team in a two game series.
JUNIORS -- SEASON OPENS ON
THE UP SIDE
9/10/06
The Rebel Junior team opened the
2006-07 season with a two game home stand against the Eastern Penn.
Junior Bucks. Saturday night a good sized crowd filled Dix
Hills Rink to watch the Junior Hockey action. The Rebels
came out quick on the attack with Devin O'Connor helping Dan Healy
put on in the net three minutes into the first period.
Three minutes later Mike Lukenovich lit the goal light with an
unassisted goal. Midway of the second period Zach
Hendrickson with assists from Mark Capobianco and Scott Haeseker put
one past the Pa. goal keeper. The Rebels went up by four when
Mike Prainito scored with assists from Dan Healy and Devin O'Connor.
Less than a minute later James Kelly took the Pa. goal keeper one on
one and roofed it knocking the water bottle off the net putting the
Rebels up 5-0. The Penn Jr. Bucks were able to hit the top
corner
late in the third period making the final score 5-1.
Rebel goalie Anthony Sellitti played a great game turning away
22 of the 23 Junior Bucks shots.
The Eastern Penn Bucks came back to
Dix Hills Sunday morning looking to split the weekend.
The Rebels got on the board when Mike Lukenovich scored unassisted
four minutes into the game. Three minutes later
Lukenovich helped Sean Collins put the Rebels up by two. The
game got physical with the penalty box filling up. The Rebels
scored three power play goals from Zach Hendrickson, Chris
Kossowsky, and Sean Collins. The Bucks used also
used the man advantage scoring one power play goal in the second and
one in the third. The Rebels pushed the score back with Ryan Sewards' perfect pass to Sean Collins to make the score 6-2.
The red line finalized it when Mike Post scored with the help of
Frank Etrasco and Nick Rossi. Excellent defense from
Mike Dzwil, Justin Sparacio, and Jamie Rifice helped goal keeper
Sean Zerillo stop 25 of the 27 shots for a Rebels 7-2 win.
JUNIORS -- REBELS WILL FIELD TEAM IN THE
AMERICA EAST LEAGUE

The Rebels have announced the intent to field a team
in the America East Junior Hockey League in the 2006-2007 season.
The Rebels will enter the America East Junior Hockey League Southern
Division after its
first year playing at the junior level. The Rebels are excited
to play at this level of hockey and look forward with great
enthusiasm to the coming season. Teams currently
registered in the America East Hockey League are:

Eastern Penn. Bucks CTDP
